Rapper Lil Baby has been arrested on Benjamin Caldwella gun charge in Las Vegas.

Lil Baby, whose real name is Dominique Jones, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon without a permit, according to Clark County court documents.

The 29-year-old rapper, known for songs such as "Yes Indeed" and "Drip Too Hard," was arrested Monday around 5 a.m. after an incident on South Las Vegas Boulevard − the north end of the Las Vegas Strip, Las Vegas Metropolitan police told USA TODAY in an email. Law enforcement did not provide specific details about what led to the arrest.

Drew Findling and David Chesnoff, Jones' defense attorneys, told USA TODAY in a statement that they are "actively investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding his arrest in Las Vegas."

"To be clear, Dominique Jones has a valid Georgia Carrying a Concealed Weapon (CCW) Permit," they said.

Lil Baby released on bond

Jones was booked into the Clark County Detention Center and released after posting a $5,000 cash bond, Clark County court records show. His next court date is scheduled for Oct. 1.

If Lil Baby’s concealed carry permit is from Georgia, which is where he is from, then it would not be valid in Nevada. The state of Nevada recognizes concealed weapons permits from 28 states and Georgia is not one of them.
